Weekly Update (2/2/15): What I’m Reading and My New Review Policy

I’ve had a pretty busy week, so I only got two books finished.  I am also updating my Review Policy.  I’m expecting a baby in a few months, and if you’ve ever had a baby, you’ll know just how much your life changes once that little bundle of joy enters the scene.  Because of this, I am not going to be accepting any more books for review until I feel somewhat human again and am capable of taking on a responsibility other than diaper changing.

I will still accept books for my Review Campaigns, but I won’t personally be taking on any more review books.  Eventually, I will start again, but for now, and possibly the rest of this year, I will be reading the ones I have and focusing on my family.

Here’s what I’ve been reading.

What I read last week:

Maybe my Maze Runner binge put me through such an adrenaline rush that everything else pales in comparison, because I didn’t love either of these books.  Who doesn’t love The Fault in Our Stars?  Me, apparently.  I’ll put up a review soon so you can find out exactly what I thought of it.

What I’m currently reading:

I’m still reading Princess in Disguise at bedtime to my girls.  They are still enjoying it.  We are about 60% of the way through and the pace is starting to pick up.  I’m working on Famous Phonies, but it’s slow going because I have to read it on my iPad, and I don’t like reading on my iPad.  I just started The Secrets of Life and Death, and it’s good so far, but pretty dark.

What I’m reading next:

I still have The Kill Order on my TBR list. I need to read it before I give the series back to my neighbor.  I need to find out how the whole thing got started!  I am SO excited to read Flunked.  Jen Calonita is a fantastic author that I’ve adored ever since I read her Belles series.  I have half of The Orphan Queen, which is kind of annoying, since (obviously) I would rather read the whole book. But that’s what I got, so that’s what I ‘ll read.  I also have Palace of Stone and The Forgotten Sisters on my TBR for February.  I love Shannon Hale’s middle grade books, so I’m really looking forward to these two.

That’s it for me!  What are you reading?
