Weekly Update (12/8/14): What I’m Reading, Plus a New Service for Authors

I’m looking for readers and reviewers!  If you like reading and would be willing to write a short (100 words or more) review in exchange for FREE ebooks, please visit this blog post and sign up for my email list.

I’m starting a new service for authors!  I’m really excited about it because I feel like it will benefit authors and be really affordable.  I’m setting up a review program where authors can list their book(s) here on my site and potentially get more reviews.  If you are an author or publisher and are interested in this service, please email me at reviewkidsbooks (at) gmail (dot) com.

Here’s what I’ve been reading.

What I read last week:

This Night So Dark was a very short story about Tarver six months before the Icarus went down.  It was good, but not necessary to understand the other books.  Softly Falling was the nice, slow romance I was hoping for.  Anomaly was typical YA, but still very good.  Make Up was a nonfiction about style, beauty, and business.  Reviews for these will be up soon.

What I’m currently reading:

I just started these two books.  This Shattered World is the only book in my December review pile, so I’m putting the rest of my review books on hold so I can read a few books that I’ve had my eye on for a while.  The Golem and the Jinni is one of those. My friend recommended it to me over a year go, and it’s time that I read it.

What I’m Reading Next:

I’ve had The Witch’s Daughter on my Kindle for almost three years, and I’ve never had the chance to read it, so that’s what I’m reading next.  I can’t wait to read this book!  It’s supposed to be suspenseful and a little romantic, so it sounds right up my alley.

Books I Want to Read in December:

I’ve heard great things about all these books, so I’m looking forward to a little pleasure reading this month!

What are you reading?
