Weekly Update (12/1/14): What I’m Reading and My Plans for December

This month, I am going to do something I’ve never done before.  I’m going to take a break from review books.  From now until December 31, I won’t be accepting ANY review requests.  I have several books on my Kindle, on my bookshelf, and at the library that I’ve been wanting to read for a LONG time (years).  I’m always buried under a pile of review books, so I almost never take time to read something just because I want to.

I won’t just be reading in December, either.  I have some other projects I plan to work on as well.  I have a new development for the blog that I want to launch, a painting I want to paint, and a craft project I want to sew.

I will still be posting regularly, but my posts may be of a different nature and the books I feature will mostly be for adults.

But for now, here’s what I’ve been up to.

What I read last week:

Mortal Heart was as gorgeous as both of its predecessors.  I loved it!  Curse of the Broomstaff was funny and well paced.  My reviews for both of these books will be up soon.  The other books were all short novellas (50 pages) that I read on a whim. A Place in Her Heart was fantastic, and the other ones ranged from meh to just okay, but they were all clean.

What I’m currently reading:

Softly Falling is exactly what it sounds like.  It’s a soft, slow paced romance that I’m absolutely loving.  It’s exactly what I am in the mood for, so I’m enjoying it a lot.  I just started Anomaly and I’m only a few pages in.

What I’m Reading Next:

This Night So Dark is free on Amazon, and is a follow up novella to the first book in the series.  This Shattered World is the only book on my December TBR, (other than what I didn’t finish in November), and I’ve been looking forward to it anyway, so it will stay.

Books I Want to Read in December:

These are just some of the books I want to read.  If I have time, I will squeeze in a couple more.  This list may change based on my mood or what I find on my Kindle or at the library.

Mortal Heart! I just got it with Dark Triumph in one go. I'm a little apprehensive about reading Annith's story because I didn't really like her small moments in the first book but hopefully it's as good as you felt it was.
You've got a lot of good books in your tbr list for December. I'm really interested on what you think of The Witch's Daughter when you are done.
