Picture Book Review: Bear About Town, by Stella Blackstone and Debbie Harter (Illustrator)

Bear heads into town every day. He stops at different places (bakery,
pool, movie theater, gym, toy store and the park). His outings provide
an opportunity to learn the days of the week as well as the ins and outs
of a town. The places are appropriate to the target age group and there
is plenty in the pictures for kids to discuss. This book could be used
as an adjunct to lessons about the community, both workers and places.

Bear About Town is a simple, brightly illustrated book that provides kids ample opportunity to browse the pictures for things they recognize.  With simple, rhyming text, it is perfect to read out loud to very young children and help them recognize different things that they might see on any given day.

The illustrations are engaging and informative.  They will keep your child entertained while also being educational.

It comes it both board book and paperback formats.
