Book Review: Bear Snores On, by Karma Wilson, Jane Chapman (Illustrator)

One by one, a whole host
of different animals and birds find their way out of the cold and into
Bear’s cave to warm up. But even after the tea has been brewed and the
corn has been popped, Bear just snores on! See what happens when he
finally wakes up and finds his cave full of uninvited guests — all of
them having a party without him!

This book has more five star reviews than I have seen on any picture book, and with good reason.  This was a delightful surprise to read.  I loved the charming prose and the beautiful artwork.  The colors were well coordinated and the illustrations fit with the writing very well.

The writing itself was entertaining, upbeat, and fun.  I was partying right along with all the animals!  I would definitely recommend Bear Snores On to anyone looking for a good picture book.  With the theme of hibernation, it would even make a good Christmas or birthday gift.
