Hello, my lovelies! I’ve partnered with zulily to bring your attention to a cause that’s near and dear to my heart—helping hurricane victims.

The 2017 hurricane season was one of the worst we’ve seen in decades. Hurricane Harvey, Irma, and Maria caused untold destruction.

One of the things I learned after Hurricane Matthew last year is that the effects of a natural disaster don’t disappear with the cleanup crews. In fact, it can take well over a year for affected areas to rebuild, repair, and recover from a hurricane.

While there are many organizations that help out with immediate needs like shelter and food, it can be easy to overlook ongoing needs for things like books and school supplies.

Let’s not forget the people still suffering from the devastation of the 2017 hurricane season.

Their struggle isn’t over and they still need our help.

Gifts with Purpose

zulily is celebrating National Literacy Month by partnering with Penguin Random House and First Book to provide books and supplies to people affected by the hurricanes.

Shop zulily’s book fair to get some beautiful books for your children this holiday season and trigger a donation from Penguin Random House.

Here’s how it works:

  • Shop on zulily for books marked with a “Buy One Give One” tag.
  • Penguin Random House donates a book to First Book for every eligible book you buy.
  • First Book gives the books and supplies to children, schools, and teachers, affected by the hurricanes.

Let’s help them reach that goal!

How to Find Eligible Books

To find all the books eligible for this program, go to:

zulily.com > Shop by Category > Kids > Buy One Give One

Here’s a screenshot of the “Kids” category on zulily. See that badge labeled “BUY ONE GIVE ONE”? Click on it to find all the eligible books.

You can also search zulily for the term “Buy One Get One” to see included books.

You’ll notice that all the books fall under a theme. As of this posting, the theme is holiday favorites.

BUT, this is zulily we’re talking about. In a few days, these books will be swapped out for different ones. So if you’re in the market for Christmas books or holiday books, snap these up before the deal ends.

You can see when the current deals will end by looking at the countdown happening in the upper right-hand corner.

It’s also worth mentioning that since you’re shopping on zulily, these books are on sale, too. You’ll save up to 40% off the retail price AND help out hurricane victims. It’s a win-win.

Plus, zulily has TONS of other deals and items to help you check off all the names on your holiday shopping list. It’s one of my favorite websites to stalk. The fact that you can help people at the same time is just gravy.
