Love in Bloom Giveaway Hop. Win a book from Batch of Books.

Welcome to the Love in Bloom Giveaway Hop! This hop is being hosted by BookHounds and is sponsored by me. 🙂

For this giveaway hop, I’m going to be offering up two young adult ARCs that I recently reviewed: Kill All Happies by Rachel Cohn and Just Fly Away by Andrew McCarthy.

What You Could Win

Kill All Happies by Rachel Cohn. A YA/NA novel about the ultimate party to say goodbye. Kill All Happies by Rachel Cohn

Last Call at Happies! Tonight, 8 P.M. Senior Class Only! Please with the Shhhh…. This is it. Graduation. And Vic Navarro is throwing the most epic party Rancho Soldado has ever seen. She’s going to pull off the most memorable good-bye ever for her best friends, give Happies—the kitschy restaurant that is her desert town’s claim to fame—a proper send-off into bankruptcy, and oh yes, hook up with her delicious crush, Jake Zavala-Kim. She only needs to keep the whole thing a secret so that her archnemesis, Miss Ann Thrope, Rancho Soldado’s nightmare Town Councilwoman and high school Economics teacher, doesn’t get Vic tossed in jail. With the music thumping, alcohol flowing, bodies mashing, and Thrope nowhere to be seen, Vic’s party is a raging success. That is, until Happies fans start arriving in droves to say goodbye, and storm the deserted theme park behind the restaurant. Suddenly what was a small graduation bash is more like Coachella on steroids with a side of RASmatazz pie. The night is so not going as planned. And maybe that’s the best plan of all.

Just Fly Away by Andrew McCarthy. This young adult novel is a good book to read when you need to feel all the feels. Just Fly Away by Andrew McCarthy

When fifteen-year-old Lucy Willows discovers that her father has a child from a brief affair, an eight-year-old boy who lives in her own suburban New Jersey town, she begins to question everything she thinks she knows about her home and her life. How could Lucy’s father have betrayed the entire family? How could her mother forgive him? And why isn’t her sister rocked by the news the way Lucy is?

As her father’s secret becomes her own, Lucy grows more and more isolated from her friends, her family, and even her boyfriend, Simon, the one person she thought understood her. When Lucy escapes to Maine, the home of her mysteriously estranged grandfather, she finally begins to get to the bottom of her family’s secrets and lies.

Just Fly Away is a debut novel about family secrets, first love, the limits of forgiveness, and finding one’s way in the world from an award-winning writer, actor, and director.

I really liked Andrew McCarthy’s book. It was a surprise for me, too. I didn’t think that a celebrity could write a very good book! Ha ha! Glad you enjoyed Kill All Happies. It had a really fun premise.
