With 2015 stretching all shiny and new before me, I had to make some goals for it. I don’t always make resolutions, but I find that writing things down helps me accomplish them. So here are my readolutions and goals for 2015:
1. Read 150 books
I read 152 books in 2014 (lots of those were picture books) and I felt like that was a good number, so I’m going with it again.
2. Build my business
I didn’t ever think my blog would turn into a business, but it sprang out of necessity. I was getting far too many review requests each day and needed a way to get authors the reviews they were looking for without losing my sanity. Thus my Review Campaigns were born.
3. Eliminate my TBR pile
This is on most blogger’s lists, I think. I only have 35 books on my review pile, but every time I make some headway on it, I end up adding more books to replace the ones I’ve read. So my goal is to not bring in any books (ha ha, yeah right) until I finish all the ones I have.
4. Read books from my shelf
I have over 1400 unread books on my Kindle, and over 50 unread physical books sitting on my shelf. The majority of those are ones I want to read, so my goal this year is to finally get some of those books read.
5. Develop my art
I have an idea that I want to work on in 2015. It’s partly for the blog, but it’s partly because I love art and want to use the degree I spent four years getting. I’m stewing over some projects right now, and if all goes according to plan, I will be incorporating and sharing my relevant art here on the blog.
6. Have a baby
This is certainly not the least of my goals. My third baby girl is due in May, and I’m super excited to bring her into the world. Obviously, my other goals will take a back seat once May rolls along, since I’ll be sleep deprived and lucky if I get to brush my teeth every day.
I have a few other goals that I would like to work on as well, but these are the big ones.
Do you have any readolutions or goals for the new year? Let me know in the comments!
