Stacking the Shelves #30: New Books!

Uncategorized

Welcome to Stacking the Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews.  This is where I share the new books I’ve gotten recently.

Even though I’m not accepting any new review books during December, I still had a couple coming in the mail.  Here’s what I got this week:

Young Adult Books:

Firstborn is a standalone (I think) and Remnants is the first in a series.  Merlin’s Shadow and Merlin’s Nightmare are books 2 and 3 in a series, but I already have the first book.  These were a Cyber Monday splurge for me.  They are all books from a sale that Blink (Harper Collins Christian YA imprint) was having.  They are books that I’d wanted to read in the past, but either missed my chance at an ARC or couldn’t justify purchasing … until now. They were $0.99 each!

Young Adult/Adult Book:

Thank you to Random House and the Blogging for Books program for sending me Make Up by Michelle Phan! This is a nonfiction/self improvement book about style, beauty, and business. I’ve already read it and my review will be up soon. This book doesn’t really fit into any specific age category.  It’s intended for girls in high school and women in their 20s and 30s.

Art Book:

My mom gave me some birthday money (months ago), and I’d been debating on what to get with it. I finally decided to buy myself an art book, because you can never have too many of those. Plus, I want to experiment with watercolor and I like this artist’s style.

What new books have you gotten recently?

99 cents! What a bargain. I didn't know Michelle Phan wrote a book. A lot of youtubers are writing books lately including Hannah Hart (My Drunk Kitchen) and Zoella. I could probably use Phan's book because I know nothing about make up and style lol.

Pretty watercolor book. It's only that I have found out that you can actually create art with watercolors. I know that makes no sense but I never saw it being used as a true art form. No doubt you'll be able to create something beautiful (:

Merlin's Shadow! I've seen these around once or twice, will have to check out the first, anything to do with Merlin/Arthurian times, I'm there. 😉
