About the Book:
In this sequel to Doon, Mackenna Reid realizes she made a
horrible mistake in choosing to follow her dreams of Broadway instead of
staying in the enchanted land of Doon. To make everything worse, she’s
received her Calling—proof she and Duncan are each other’s one true
love—and it’s pure torment, especially when visions of the very alluring
Scottish prince appear right before she goes on stage. So when Duncan
tells her an ancient curse threatens to overtake Doon and the new queen
and Kenna’s best friend, Veronica, needs her to return, Kenna doesn’t
have to think twice. With darkness closing in on all sides, Kenna and
Vee must battle a world of nightmares in order to protect the kingdom.
But it will take the ultimate test of courage for Kenna to salvage her
happily ever after.
Duncan shows up in Kenna’s dressing room one night to whisk her back to
Doon, by orders of the new queen. Kenna goes with him, but there is a huge
rift between them now. Misunderstandings and tender feelings keep them
from confessing their true feelings to each other. Meanwhile, a plague
is threatening Doon and it’s up to Veronica and Kenna to stop it.
I liked this book much more than the first one, but I expected to. I’ve
always liked Kenna and Duncan’s story better, so it wasn’t a big
surprise that I liked this book.
The reason I like Kenna and Duncan’s relationship so much is it’s believable and they
have a lot of history. It isn’t insta love, and getting them together
takes a lot of work. I also really liked the way the book ended, even though
it was a cliffhanger.
Content: Innuendo, kissing, and a bit of violence and disturbing scenes.
