I just got home (this morning) from two weeks in Canada spending time with my family. Every summer, my five brothers and I, and our families, descend on my parents’ house for a family reunion. We shoot gophers (a small prairie rodent that is every rancher’s nemesis), visit Waterton Park (a national park), and generally drive our parents crazy.
My husband and I took our kids paddle-boating. I’ve always wanted to do it, and now I know not to do it again. Next time, I will spring for a canoe or a rowboat. My legs were so sore!
Gopher hunting. It’s quite the experience. 🙂
My youngest brother graduated from high school while we were there so I got to see him get his diploma and meet his grad (Canadian equivalent to prom) date. He is going to serve a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in New York City. He is very excited and he leaves in a few weeks.
Other than freezing my toes off in Canada (summer hasn’t fully arrived up there yet), I did get a little reading done. Here are the books I read on my plane flights and in a few snatches of down time during the last two weeks.
I had to pick up The Worst Hard Time again. I didn’t finish before we left for Canada, so I checked it back out and am picking up where I left off. I just barely started on Catch A Falling Star, but I really like it so far. Urban Watercolor Sketching is very fun. I love watercolor and the author’s artistic style is vivacious and exciting.
Such fun books await! I am really excited to read all of these. At Your Service has an adorable cover, and the other two books have both been on my Must Read list for a long time. Doesn’t Fiendish look absolutely fantastic? I’ve been in a weird mood lately and have been craving something creepy.
What are you reading?
