Weekly Update (6/9/14): What I’m Reading Now

Uncategorized

I only read two books last week, but they were both fairly long.  And both very good.

What I read last week:

I read The School for Good and Evil this week.  It was pretty lengthy for the age group it’s aimed at, but very good.  It was more insightful than I expected and I got very wrapped up in the characters.  I’m excited to read the next one!  I also read The Kiss of Deception, which I also really enjoyed.

What I’m currently reading:

I’m still working on The Worst Hard Time.  I’m still loving it, but it’s a library book, not an ARC, so it’s being read just a few pages at a time.  If I can get everything else read for the month, then I will be able to dedicate more time to it.

I’m just a little way into The Spy Catcher’s of Maple Hill.  It’s a middle grade mystery novel that takes place in a graveyard and set against the Cold War.  I also just started I’m No Angel, which is a memoir from a former Victoria’s Secret model who gave up her career in modeling when she realized her life wasn’t in harmony with her Christian beliefs. It’s another book that I’m trying to squeeze in a few minutes at a time, and will probably take me quite a while to read since I’m not on a deadline to read it.

What I hope to read soon:

I hope to read A World Without Princes soon.  I’m anxious to see where the story goes next.  I’m definitely going to read Don’t Call Me Baby this week since I do have a deadline for that one.  It’s about a girl who’s mother is a mommy blogger and her entire life is posted online—by her mother.  It sounds cute and I’m looking forward to it.  I’m also very excited, but a little nervous to read The Night Gardener.  My friend just read it and said it was really creepy.  I’m in the mood for something not so girly, but I’m apprehensive about getting freaked out.  Ha ha.

People always ask me how I can read so many books at one time. I can see you are just like me in that respect. I am reading The Old West Romance Anthology, Rebel Princess, Descending and Hope. I just started following your reviews, well, everywhere. 🙂

I usually focus on one book at a time and have a couple that I'm trying to squeeze in. Sometimes I'll have a different book going on every device I own, plus a hard copy book in the works. That way, I'm never without reading material, no matter where I am.

I'm looking forward to chatting about books with you! It sounds like you enjoy a wide variety of books too.

      Those dolls are incredible! Wow.

I really liked The School for Good and Evil. It's one of those books that most people will like, I think. I hope you read it, and I hope you like it!
